Mixed-Age Parent Participation Program
Semester 1: Oct 7th, 2011 - Dec 15th, 2011
Semester 2: Jan 20th, 2012  – May 25th, 2012

Mothers of youngsters and children of different ages gather at the Village to become caretakers and explorers on the farm! We are delighted to present the unique mixed age flavor in this class allowing the young children to role model after the older ones. And instilling in the latter group character traits such as patience, understanding, sharing and coaching as they learn emotional intelligence and conflict resolution within a diversified social group. In addition, the involvement of parents will open doors to naturally building lasting relationships. The program especially reaches out to families with mixed-age children! It is also a great third day option for the families who are enrolled in the Peace Village 2 day Pre-school program.

Parent Participation : Mothers of Children not yet potty trained or under 2.5 will be required to stay for the class. Older children will be dropped off, but moms will be scheduled to assist the teacher once per month during class time.

During the class, students will get mixed age time as well as focused time within the same age group. Below is a sample schedule.

Typical Friday schedule
9:00-9:15. Moms who will stay in class that day arrive and help up.
9:15-9:30. Arrival and greetings
9:30-9:50. Older group circle time – Inc letters and numbers. Mommy and me art time and table time.
9:50-10:00. Settle in older children in garden
10:00-10:20 older children in garden and mommy and me circle time (finger play, movement, simple songs)
10:20- 10:55 mommy and me free choice in garden and older children art time and table time
11:00 Cooking snack ( we will cook our snack – moms on a rotating schedule will send items needed for snack).
11:20 clean up art and snack areas
11:30-12:00 free play sand and animal areas
12:00-12:15. Clean up and story circle, goodbye song and dua in sand area
